Hello, this is PD Xenon.
Since the last developer’s note, the weather has changed dramatically and it's now quite chilly.
Next week, we have the Halloween update planned, and we’ve been working hard to ensure that our Captains can enjoy the event and collect various rewards and items.
Today, I’d like to share some updates, focusing on the long-term acquisition of important resources for Captains who would like to enjoy the game over an extended period, beyond just the one-time event rewards.
1. Regarding Diamond Acquisition
In Gran Saga: IDLE, we believe the core enjoyment lies in obtaining various heroes and freely building a unique squad.
However, due to certain limitations, such as content additions, the speed and amount of diamond acquisition have been somewhat restricted.
While the one-time diamond rewards from stages and events have been positively received,
From a long-term perspective, some Captains have expressed that the diamond acquisition rate is insufficient.
To address this issue, we plan to significantly increase diamond rewards by introducing season-based content.
This will allow Captains to focus on summoning their desired heroes or have more options to summon multiple heroes.
The season-based content will follow an approximately one-month cycle, with key updates to ensure stable resource acquisition.
These updates will include the following:
2. Guidance on Growth Resources and Their Use
Due to unexpected delays in development, the addition of stages to growth dungeons and the introduction of new uses for growth materials have been postponed.
We kindly ask for your understanding and assure you that we are preparing to continuously add dungeons while fully accommodating the demand for resource utilization.
① Gold Usage
The utility of gold will significantly increase with the upcoming enhancement systems. This will add more diverse uses for gold, giving it additional value in the game.
② Hero Experience Points
Currently, hero experience points remain as surplus resources once level-ups are complete. However, once the level cap is raised, experience points will play a key role in strengthening both your heroes and your squad, alongside other resources.
③ Potential Ability Materials
While potential ability materials already provide a substantial amount of stats, they also require further use. After the level 50 cap is unlocked, these materials will be used to directly strengthen (level up) heroes. As their supply increases, we are considering adding them as idle rewards, similar to gold and experience.
④ Artifact Dungeon
The Artifact Dungeon is closely tied to summoning and artifact-related resources, and more details will be shared soon. Currently, there is a diminishing appeal to the rewards beyond stage 500, so we are considering adding artifact enhancement system resources as rewards, particularly to make use of excess shards after reaching 10-star artifacts.
3. Keystone Supply Plan
Currently, keystones are divided into two categories: universal keystones and combat (rainbow) keystones.
Combat keystones, in particular, have high utility, and we understand that many Captains are focusing on acquiring them.
However, combat keystones can only be unlocked by summoning 5-star heroes through pickup summons, making them quite difficult to obtain.
To address this issue, we are exploring various improvements, and once we finalize the details, we will provide a more thorough explanation.
For now, we want to let you know that in the collaboration event scheduled for November, we are preparing ways for Captains to more easily acquire combat keystones.
We hope you look forward to it!
4. Managing Equipment and Keystone Exchange Tickets
We understand that the system of equipment and keystone exchange tickets may be somewhat confusing, so we’d like to explain the intent behind its introduction.
Frequent swapping of equipment and keystones during various content runs can lead to situations where players feel forced to constantly switch gear for efficient play. This could potentially increase frustration rather than enhancing the strategic enjoyment we originally aimed for.
For this reason, we've provided exchange tickets in a limited capacity to minimize the need for constant switching.
Our goal was to allow Captains to maintain stable setups while focusing on tackling content like the Challenge or Sanctuary of the Warrior without constantly replacing keystones or equipment.
However, we recognize that the number of equipment exchange tickets has been insufficient, causing inconvenience, particularly during essential swaps.
To address this, we plan to increase the number of exchange tickets in the upcoming update on the 17th, allowing for more flexible gear changes.
Rest assured, we are committed to refining the system to ensure that you can easily maintain the optimal strategy and setup while enjoying the content.
Thank you for your continued feedback!
5. Hero Acquisition Plan
The process of acquiring heroes is one of the areas we are monitoring most carefully.
Currently, Gran Saga: IDLE does not reintroduce past hero rate-up summons to preserve the value of the heroes and resources used in those summons.
To compensate for this, we are adding a wishlist system (apologies for the delay in its implementation) and preparing the Gran Jewel Pass (which includes universal hero shards).
We fully understand that it can be challenging to raise key heroes without pickups.
To address this issue, we are actively working on additional ways to acquire heroes.
Once the system for using hero shards beyond 10-stars is updated, we will ensure that players can obtain key heroes at regular intervals.
We are also considering ways to make high-tier heroes more accessible to newer Captains without disrupting the game’s balance.
This will help newer players acquire key heroes more smoothly.
Next week, we will provide more detailed information and images about the World Challenge.
Since the World Challenge is content designed to determine the strongest knights, we are considering setting the entry condition as clearing Challenge Stage 75 and offering rewards that match the difficulty level.
However, as this is still in the early stages, we plan to adjust the system flexibly.
For example, we might offer more support to help more Captains clear Stage 75 or relax the entry conditions so that more players can participate.
Lastly, Red Hood Jun, wearing an adorable Halloween costume, has prepared a small gift for our Captains!
